My blog is fantastic, as it's all about *not me*. Most often, I feel this way, because I am doomed - doomed to be, to be, to be.

Hey!

So I'm updating my blog. It's been a little while; a week. Since I last posted, I haven't done very much with my last week: Rehersal, video games, laundry. Last weekend I went to Red Deer to visit my friend Rene's parents. Yes, former boyfriend Rene now turned current friend. Why did I go if we're not dating? Everyone asks that. I wanted to see where Rene sorta came from; his roots.

On Saturday I met his family outside Ikea in Edmonton and Rene and I followed them back to Red Deer in my car. I wailed to Jewel's "Foolish Games," talked on the phone to my friend Anastasia as she tells me about her adventures with boys, and Rene slept. Rene's sorta sloth-like in that respect, sleeping at any opportunity that presents itself. For example, we're having a chat in my living room, and I leave the room for three minutes to use the washroom and when I return, he's fast asleep. Ahh well, cute fella that he is.

Anyway, in Red Deer I get to know his mom as she cooks dinner and Rene helps. She's a great lady, really kind and sweet, and Rene and her are very close. His dad is a cool guy, too. They all talk in Spanish around me, and I can tell what Rene is talking ABOUT because he changes his tone and facial expressions. I feel estute for picking up on the intended jokes in his Spanish stories.

We drank wine, had supper (delicious), went for a nice walk, drank some absinthe and had some banana bread (yes, I know), then walked thirty blocks to the bar. Went to the bar, was afraid, but eventually drank enough to say "fuck it" and danced like it was the gay bar. I had a great time, and wasn't afraid because I am me. We met Rene's friends there, along with one girl who tried to grab my crotch and touch my nipples (hello over-confident fag-hag), and headed home at around two-thirty. We watched a bit of "Hitch" on his enormous t.v. in the basement, and then to bed at around five.

The next day Rene introduced me to his sister, who is a really cool girl. We hung out with her before she had to go to work, and then we hung out with Rene's friend Leah. She's a funny girl, a graduate of Fine Art, and Rene and I played chess. While I was sorta half-assing my chess game with Rene, he started to kick my ass early on and I was starting to panick when he called a "truce" after getting bored.

We all went to the bookstore and had some coffee, then I drove home and got home at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night.

Side note: My inner-theighs were HURTING on Sunday because I worked them out on Friday and after sixty blocks of walking on Saturday night, I couldn't move the next day. The very little movement I did have put me in the same range as John Wayne, or at least Nathan Layne doing John Wayne in The Bird Cage. But that's just an aside.
