How I Feel Today
Today was a fairly good day. While I didn't get much rest last night, I woke up early and went to the college for registration day. After a very brief period of obtaining papers, filling out information, and payment, I headed to the college gymnasium where I began volunteering for Peer Support at the Student's Association booth. Just for the record, I volunteered from approximately 9:40 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. today. It makes me feel good to contribute.
During lunch, around 12:30 p.m., I discovered that Sue (works for the Student's Association) is hilarious. Her comments, "All we'd need is a sober driver and a mini-van," when discussing a trip she'd take around Alberta denoting the "biggest" monuments (i.e. Perogie, Boot, Star Trek ship in the city of Vulcan, etc.).
Also, she discussed a time when she was marking essays with Alberta Learning and (before FOIPP) they would exchange the strangest phrases that students would write. She described a grade three student who wrote about a person named Michael who was on a boat next to the narrator, when the boat began to sink. The student wrote that Michael began to sink with the boat, and immediately afterward, the narrator simply commented, "There," she said. "There goes a very nice hat."
I laughed, and laughed...Thought I couldn't stop, but managed as we ate pizza in the Student Life office.
Also, I saw Crystal (V.P. Student Life) today for the first time in a long while. She's been busy with her new position for quite a while, and we never really had a chance to connect.
I was so tired after "promoting" Peer Support today...Ugh...I felt like such a promoter, that it was crazy.
Anyway, I didn't do much afterward - I went home, had something to eat, and played video games. Here I am enjoying my leisure time. I feel very good about that.
Well, I am going to go.
